What is 26io Techlab?
26io Techlab is an independent AI product studio. It designs, builds, and runs its own AI products end to end — currently Evi AI, a personal AI assistant, and Kus, a knowledge and retrieval API — on infrastructure the studio operates itself rather than reselling.
What does 26io Techlab do?
26io Techlab builds complete AI products rather than demos or consulting projects. Each product is designed, engineered, and operated in house, from the model pipeline through to the deployed service. Owning the whole stack is what keeps prices low. The studio's stated aim is to make powerful AI useful and affordable for everyone, not only well-funded companies.
Where is 26io Techlab based?
26io Techlab operates from India and builds for a global audience. Its products are available worldwide and are not limited to any one market.
Is 26io Techlab building its own AI model?
Yes, at an early stage. 26io Techlab is researching its own lightweight language model — small and inexpensive enough to run almost anywhere, while tuned to perform above its size. This is early-stage research and development, not a released product. The intended route to market is the Evi API.

What products does 26io Techlab make?
26io Techlab makes four products. Evi AI, a personal AI assistant, and Kus, a knowledge and retrieval API, are both live. Revmosys, a website-momentum and revenue intelligence engine, and the Evi API, an affordable AI API for students and developers, are in development.
What is Evi AI?
Evi AI is a personal AI assistant built by 26io Techlab. Unlike assistants that begin writing immediately, Evi first classifies the question and plans the shape of the answer — format, length, depth and what to cover — then writes it, then scores its own reply against that plan and against the sources it actually used. Long-term memory across chats and answers drawn from uploaded documents are included as standard.
How is Evi AI different from other AI assistants?
The difference is the pipeline rather than any single feature. Evi AI separates planning from writing: one pass works out what kind of question was asked, a second decides the format and what the answer must cover, and only then does it write. After streaming, every reply is scored out of 1 against that plan and against the retrieved sources rather than the model's own training. Most assistants begin generating text on the first pass.
What is Kus?
Kus is an API from 26io Techlab that makes small or local language models answer reliably. It searches trusted sources and returns answers with citations. A master router fans each query across three child retrieval systems and nineteen asynchronous source workers in parallel, then ranks results with hybrid BM25 and dense retrieval fused by reciprocal rank fusion, followed by a FlashRank cross-encoder rerank that runs on CPU. Cached questions can return in roughly 150 milliseconds with no model call.
What is Revmosys?
Revmosys is a website momentum engine built by 26io Techlab, aimed at small businesses rather than large ones. It tracks how many people find a site, how many get in touch, and what changed, then names which stage of the funnel broke instead of listing every symptom. It applies proper statistical tests so a rise from 3 enquiries to 6 is reported as normal variation rather than growth, and it says when there is not yet enough data for a reliable read. It also checks each month whether AI assistants name the business when someone asks for one like it. The engine is built and tested but has no customers yet, so it is listed as coming soon rather than live.
What is the Evi API?
The Evi API is a planned AI API from 26io Techlab, in an OpenAI-compatible style, aimed at students and independent developers who need production AI at low cost. It is also the intended home for the lightweight language model the studio is currently researching. It has not launched yet.
Practical
Is Evi AI free to use?
Yes. 26io Techlab currently offers Evi AI free of charge, subject to fair use. Other products may be offered separately, including on paid terms, under their own agreements.

Does 26io Techlab train AI models on my conversations?
Messages and documents submitted to Evi AI are sent to AI model providers so that Evi can generate a response, and those providers process the data only as needed to perform that service. The full detail of what is collected and why is set out in the 26io Techlab privacy policy.
